Teacher Apprentice
Job Summary
The Teacher Apprentice role is designed for individuals pursuing a career in education who are actively enrolled in a teacher preparation program. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while working under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role supports the development of teaching skills, classroom management strategies, and professional growth in a structured and supportive environment. Based on your education and experience, you can be placed as an academic support teacher apprentice or a teacher apprentice in a classroom (teacher of record).
Key Responsibilities
Complete lesson planning, lead instruction, and manage classroom environment.
Provide support to students individually or in small groups to enhance learning outcomes.
Lead classroom activities under the guidance and supervision of the mentor teacher.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions as required.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student progress and classroom activities.
Actively engage in reflective practices to improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.
Adhere to school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Attend all required Teacher Apprentice Program training
Qualifications
Education:
Actively enroll in an accredited teacher preparation program.
Must provide college or High school Transcript, Program of Studies and Degree Plan
Progress Requirements:
Demonstrate consistent progress in the teacher preparation program
Must remain actively enrolled in good standing
Submit transcripts each semester
Provide Midterm grades by due date requested
Skills and Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.
Willingness to learn and implement new teaching methods.
Organized, dependable, and committed to professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting
Familiarity with classroom technologies and educational tools
Working Conditions
Primarily based in a classroom environment.
May require occasional after-school or weekend commitments for meetings or events.
