Substitute Food Service Worker
SUBSTITUTE POSTIONS ARE ON CALL AS NEEDED. MAY NOT WORK EVERY DAY
Reports To: Assigned School's Food Service Manager
Position Purpose: To effectively maintain overall operations of the Food Service Program while the permanent employee is absent.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED is desirable
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read and write the English language
• Demonstrate knowledge of food safety basics
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
• Ability to stand up to 6 hours
• Knowledge of portions sizes
• Ability to work well with others
Duties and Responsibilities:
To serve food to a cafeteria line, prepare food in a kitchen, and perform cleaning activities. May assist in the effective overall operations of the Food and Nutrition Services Program at different kitchen locations as needed.
• Preparation of food items
• Prepare food carts
• Set food in steam tables
• Serve food
• Clean & sanitize all food service areas and
equipment
• Take and document temperatures
• Unload and put away stock
• Wash dishes as needed
• Other duties as assigned
