Extended School Year (ESY) for Special Education Preschool Teachers
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Special Education K-12
DUTY DATE: June 2-July 2 8:00 am -1:30 pm (June 2 & 3 are prep days, July 2 PM is a prep day)
Applicant needs to be a self-starter and a hard worker. Position includes working with mildly, moderately and/or severely disabled students (intellectually deficient, learning disabled, physically impaired, autistic, hearing impaired, visually impaired, speech impaired and emotionally disturbed).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in education with appropriate Kansas licensure in Special Education or be interested in becoming certified/licensed to teach special education students in the State of Kansas on a waiver.
Experience with Number Worlds, Reading Mastery, and/or Corrective Reading preferred.
Experience in a structured teaching classroom preferred, but not required.
PERFORMANCE REPSONSIBILITIES:
Lead small group instruction, under teacher supervision
Provide student assistance with such activities as dressing, eating, drinking, and toileting;
Ability to collect and record data to be used as evidence in educational decisions
Ability to work with minimal supervision, good organizational skills
Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff and students
Clerical functions
Other duties as assigned
SALARY: Selected candidates will be paid at their hourly rate received during the 2025-2026 school year.
