Maintenance II - Hummer Sports Park
Reports To: District Athletic Director/Sports Park Manager
Position Purpose: To keep the district’s facilities & grounds maintained and operational so they present no problems or interruptions to the education program.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience & training in skill areas of grounds maintenance, mowing, snow removal, repairing, painting and fencing/netting-sports park maintenance .
Ability to work from verbal and written instructions and ability to design or modify components to meet job requirements
. Knowledge of standard practices, tools and terminology while caring for grounds, trees, schrubs, flowers, etc.
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, hazardous materials, and proper ways necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Ability to maintain, drive and operate medium truck, mowers, lawn, farm and turf equipment.
Must have or obtain a valid Kansas driver's license and poses a good driving record.
Ability to follow instructions, get along with others and work effectively without constant supervision.
Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 100 pounds.
Ability to perform work independently & dependably according to prescribed standards & technical procedures.
Ability to work in varied weather & temperature conditions & to work from heights.
Physical/Emotional Requirements: (The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.)
This position is classified as heavy work (level 4), which entails the following: exerting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
Performance Responsibilities:
Performs maintenance work with varied levels of skill in order to effectively maintain the Sport’s Park buildings, grounds, and equipment in a timely manner.
Will be assigned to district high school for 8 weeks over winter months.
Must be able to work occasional evening & weekend events held at the Sports Park as required.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Classified Personnel
